Wolf against Quill

This happened a couple of nights ago now

We just had a amazingly real close encounter with a big timber wolf at the back door. Quill was barking frantically and when I got up to see what was going on, I gave a quick look out the window and they were squaring off, by the time I got to the door they were coming at each other, This BIG wolf had his mouth over Quill’s neck and Quill turned and went back at him! I ran out there in my sock feet like a mad man screaming at the top of my lungs wishing I had a least a knife in my hands but was prepared to strangle. The BIG wolf, at least ten inches taller did a about face and beat it into the darkness and Quill on his tail with me Using my SUPER LOUD voice trying to get him to stop. Stupid Dog ran after the wolf off until I couldn’t here anything. We had about a inch of fresh snow last night and then freezing rain so you could here them run on this crust and it’s loud, like a horse running. Margaret and I were about to jump in the truck when Quill came puffing back. STINK! Not sure if it is dog adrenalin or wolf smell. Need less to say, he won’t be going back out tonight nor will we. My Adrenalin is coming down now to and my throat is sore to.

  1. Glad everyone is alright. You are lucky the Big Bad Wolf did not go after you! Keep Quill inside until we get there in the summer. The Drish Family

  2. Dogs are wolf bait. When I lived in Northern Saskatchewan and later in Northern Manitoba wolves frequently came right into town after the dogs. That wolf of yours is a bold one. Better discourage him permanently. You know what to do and how to do it I’m sure. (And that doesn’t involve chasing him around in the dark with your bare hands and in your stocking feet.LoL!)

  3. Scary!!!! Now are you going to let that poor dog in the house? That’s why we spoil ours.

    Miss you,
