It’s not boat “Fishing Time in Northwestern Ontario” yet and we are patiently waiting for spring. The north shores of Wabaskang are showing bare ground. However, up on Sleepy Dog Road the snow banks were high this winter, maybe a record and the trail in is soft. But it hasn’t stop our driving out yet .
We took advantage of a beautiful sunny Saturday, enjoying the transition of seasons, and headed out to explore the bush. It was a lot of fun and we found several wood burls to embellish Cabin 5.
Back at camp now, Tom progresses with carpentry work and the VW bus restoration continues. Always something to do here.

Glad to see you made it through the Winter – It’s been a challenging winter in Iowa as well, but spring is in the air. We cannot wait to be back north this summer!
It is May 20. We have had a strange spring too. The first weekend in May saw 3 inches of snow after virtually no snow in March. Today the thermometer reached 80. 30 days from yesterday, we will be at Sleepy Dog. Can’t wait!
